Book review

The colonial government recognized the suzerainty of the Onondaga tribe of the southern tribes. It paid the "people longhouses" ? 800 bank bills and 300 pounds of gold to bribe or suspected opponents of the war funding. Virginia Haudenosaunee warriors bestowed the right of passage of forces to attack the Cherokee Indians and katabve. But it coincided with the fact that the Iroquois League beginning to crumble. In fact, the British introduced the Onondaga chief astray, causing them to be considered all-powerful Iroquois confederacy capable of controlling the valley of the Ohio River with a firm hand. The credulity of the authorities was aggravated by the fact that the "experts" on the Indians of Pennsylvania confidently declared: Iroquois will be able to put on the battlefield 9300 soldiers. But the true figure is "fighting strength" (soldiers, which could actually lead to the battlefield) was not more than 1 100 people.
