Book review

Pompadour was part of the circle of the financial bourgeoisie and proud of it; she had aristocratic aspirations. The enemies called her a prostitute and mocked her behind because of lack of education. It is said that Voltaire had taught her the art of conversation and eloquence, and Bernie taught manners and etiquette of the court. Pompadour whole life remained faithful to the bourgeois taste, improved in the conduct of the house, sought to improve their happiness, the hostess took place at the dinner table. If it was bourgeois as quips criticism, while overly care about money, something like the quality of Jeanne shared with the king. Perhaps he himself was a bourgeois at heart.
