At their feet were found rows of stelae and altars with reliefs and hieroglyphics. A large area, a significant number of residents, the monumental stone architecture of buildings, developed art, writing and calendar - all approaching chalchuapa to the status of a genuine city. And it was at the end of the first millennium BC. e., long before the advent of Maya cities in other regions.
